Let Your Heart Beat Again

Let Your Heart Beat Again

"Canyon"

"Canyon"
"The shape of your love is a mystery
The shape of your love is falling rain
There in my deepest ache you're whispering
That the cracks of my broken heart will let you in

There's a river running through our deepest sorrow
There's a river running through our deepest pain
There's a river running through every dream that never came true
Make me a canyon

The shape of your love is a mystery
Walks through prison doors and hands out all the keys
You move through dark, you're a holy wind
But the cracks of my heart will breathe you in". Ellie Holcomb

I stained the paper I used for this painting last week.  When I started working, I realized the staining technique had formed a loose outline of an angel which I wanted to incorporate into this work.

Each symbol in this painting represents a crack in my heart...a canyon (as Ellie Holcomb so eloquently spoke of in her song "Canyon"). A canyon...deep and wide...that at the time seemed insurmountable.  And yet, during the Canyon experience, He was always lovingly watching me each and every step of my journey and has continually surrounded me with His angels to keep me safe.

The canyons allowed Him access to my heart and His river of mercy, love and grace flowed with His healing and restoration...refreshing my soul...breathing into my very essence new life.
